I am back to grade 7 ! [waiting o get into grade 8, so i can wear pants to school and not the mandatory shorts we had to wear until grade 7] I did something I have never ever done before. I told someone I liked him and I had a crush on him [did i just say CRUSH ?!]. I have been crushing on people left right and centre. Come meet me and worry not, you may not be my type, but chances are, I will still like you. [goes dreamy eyed] in the past 3 weeks I seem to have liked 4 different people [but him, the man in concern has been lingering around for a while now ]
But last night I finally told him I liked him. Yes the southbbaybrat pushed me. He kept nudging me and I finally decided I had to do this [yes he bullied me into it]. Its wierd. Its a very wierd feeling to go up to someone or in this case sms someone and tell them, "Hey I think over the course of things I have fallen for you". *gulp* I feel like I have just become 13 again. All that anxiety.
She was umm 13 too I think. Lived on the first floor of the adjacent bdlg. She was what us guys fondly reffered to as BHMB - badi hokar maal banegi !!! [ dials emergency to stop v's convulsions - sorry luv to str8 a term for u ] I remember discussing this for hours with 'p' then. We discussed various strategies I would employ to ask her out. Maybe I could just walk up to her place!? Err NO. Tell her on the way to school !? OMG. NO. During tution !?! No, too many people !? Then when !?!
Well, it finally happened. On the rooftop, the terrace of my bdlg.
Me: Err 'M' [ she had the wierdest name ever. Synonymous to sweet in bengali or something]
her: looking all perplexed
Me: whatsup or something to that effect [ obviously, 10 yrs ago, I ddnt use wassap, or did I !? ]
her: err nothing. we are on the terrace of your bdlg. Tellme why are we here !?
Me: Ahem. [gulp] I like you
her: [the world just fell apart, someone just mooned at her and her father prolly just got married to another woman]
Me: Err Hello !?
Her: Oh, I have to go [ and she ran away ]
She actually ran. Thankfully ddnt shout bachao or something . Well, today 'M' is very much a 'Maal' and is alo baasst frnds with 'S' my ex girlfriend so I am bullied and teased enough about my stint at the terrace. As I typed this I just realised I have actually told someone I liked em :) So he wasnt the first one, evidently so :) Considering that this time I actually wear pants and the 'sex' of the crushee is different [and I am not telling someone I like em on the rooftop of my bdlg ] maybe I should have better luck. Maybe !
Damn. I hate being 13 again !!!
Also, is telling someone you like em the same as asking someone out !?! Cuz I clearly ddnt ' ask him out '. It was just a " hey I like you " and maybe we shud give things a thought !!!

ReplyDeleteI think the scenario would've been completely different had 'M' been a 'he.' He would've done one of the two things - thrown you off the rooftop (if he was st8 that is) or pulled down ur pants and explored your junk instantly. Then you would have to change ur 'line' a lil' and say Badi Hokar Maal Banega instead....hmm...the joys of being 13 :)
mishti?
