of dilemma's and delusion's !!!

I have three different points I could blog about.

1] A happy point
2] A sad point
and
3] A Rant !!!

Now, you would think me being me I would ofcourse choose the latter two and combine the sad point and the rant and narrate the traumatic saga of my life. So for you my friends, I will l ive upto the reputation and the expectations. I will not disappoint you. If you want drama, emotion, whinginess, cribiness, you shall have it.

Or maybe not ...

We shall speak of dilemma's, but happy happy ones. Like the one's you have when you dont know which car to buy or which notebook to purchase or whether should you get the white linen pyjama's or the white linen cargo's. Yes, those happy-materlaistic-acquisition types. It's that time of the year again. We have officially crossed the two month mark and now the days are being counted. Lists are made, erased, aletered and passed out. Bring out your markers and strike out the items. It's time to buy once again a Happy Birthday Gift. Fret not, cuz all sha ll get a chance to please.

* raises hands to calm down the reader *

What is it that I want now, I hear you ask in a rather impatient tone !!! Shut the fuck up, cuz I dont like the tone of your voice. [ at this point the blogger would like to warn who-ever-is-dumb-enough-to-read-this that this is pretty much an actual conversation between me and me]

I want/need/should get a new phone !!! This is what I use now.

The Sony Ericsson Z800i. But, I have used it over a year now [gasp] and now the phone looks nothing like this :) It's scratched, its battered, its bruised. thats the problem with mobile phones. For other phone freaks out there, apparently the phone ddnt quick take off in India but its one amongst the best handsets I have ever used. Takes the intial teething period of switching away from a Nokia, but once your used to it, its bliss. And its 3G, technology India is yet to witness. Bah !

Well, so this is where the dilemma steps in. Which phone to buy !? I personally have my eyes set on the O2 da Mini. Pda, windows xp, 1.3 mp camera, wi-fi blah blah and plus it has a stylus. Theres something so cool about a phone with a stylus, like the perfect business man's phone. And with the O2, I love the way the entire screen turns into a camera .... only problem being, with the kind of abuse my phones are subjected to, I am not sure if I can handle something like this. However, this is what it looks like

Nice no, check out the slide in keypad. Tho major concern is, that for a person like me, for whom sms'in is a religion - I am scared, it'll get annonying. And the grey market price is obviously sans warranty and with warranty, sigh its obviously steep.

So thus, meet the phone[s] that cause[s] the dilemma.

The Nokia N91. But it's so sindhi-meets guju - meets marwadi - meets ghatti looking. I agree. Its a lil' too loud. Also I have had a brief look at the phone and dont approve of the keypad.

Features :-

Its got one of em' music players, upto 3000 songs and blah blah [so, what does one do with the freakin ipod yo !?!]

Its got a 2.0 mp camera [nice] 4gb memory

And the rest is pretty much the same [ compared to my current phone ]

But a frnd bought it and lurves it !!!!

And thus we move on to this [Nokia N71]

So, I have a soft corner for flip phones. They make hanging up on people so much more dramatic :) REally, try it sometime. Call someone up, fight with them and shut the flip, feels all cool ! Besides I like the way this phone looks. I havnt seen it as yet. So its on the list of things to do.

But looks nice, no !?

Features:-
Expandable Memory
Bluetooth
2 Mp Camera
[ and the rest is all similar to me current phone]

Then there is also this, tho it feel is a tad outdated now, but I'd seen someone use and I like !!
[ I'm too bored to freaking type out the feautres ] The nokia 6280, slides down, looks tres cool.

and theres the Nokia N80 - [tho, i havnt seen this one in person]

It looks nice. pretty much similar to the nokia 6280, but with cooler functions and its the much hyped about Nseries.

Features:-
3 Mp Camera
Apparently lets you print photos directly with compatible printers
The radio fm thingie
wi-fi
and has expanable memory

The O2 still ranks highest amongst all these phones, but then I wonder if it'll survive the trauma's of being handled by Mr.Butterfingers !!!

hopefully it will, if not - the birthday is just round the corner :) [ hint hint ]

and whilst we are all dilemmatic, these are the aldo chappals I want !!! Sigh !!! Just how many decisions does a 23 yr old have to make !!! :-)

Someone somewhere takes out a chappal and throws it at the blogger - Ouch !

  3. Check out the New SE M600. Where it scored over the O2 for me was the smaller dimensions. More to the point these guys know how to build sturdy instruments.

Have never been a Cam-in phone addict and this was just what i wanted. Plus with the 10K I saved I can buy a decent standalone Camera. (Yeah one more shopping tip and one more chance to burn some plastic!!)Ok so I will have to add a bit to the kitty but what the hell...

If you are ready to wait though there is the P990 coming and that will be the Big daddy of gadgets - Mobile, PDA, i-pod, and cam all rolled into one neat unit.

And incase u do opt for a PDA, then i wud suggest IMATE Jammin n not O2 mini, imate can open email attachment whereas o2 cant!

  6. I was just over in the UK and got a chance to play around with the N80. Fantastic phone. Really great. The friend I was staying with had an I-mate Jas Jar. While it's a technological powerhouse, the OS was slow and seemed buggy.

The N80 is very small, light, and has pretty much everything you need. You can even use it without a carrier {Skype for Symbian coming soon}.
